Land Walker Exoskeleton

Land Walker Exoskeleton

What is it? Why do you want it? Where can you get it? How much?
A massive robot to dominate the world Sakakibara-Kikai $350,000 (approx)

The Land Walker exoskeleton was invented by Masaaki Nagumo and is built by the Japanese company sakakibara-kikai. It's basically a gigantic one-man exoskeleton, although it is fairly (make that very) limited in its range of movement.

The intimidating weaponry fires nothing more than harmless soft plastic balls. And with a top speed of just 1mph it's not going to replace the wheel just yet. Amazingly, and quite amusingly, the original idea behind the vehicle was to create something which would be of use to either the military or police. As it is at the moment it's more of a novelty vehicle which is used for promotional activities.

However, standing over 3 metres in height, and weighing in at 2,205 lbs (1,000kg ) the Land Walker's shuffling gait is an impressive sight to behold. Although it would probably run into problems with anything but a completely smooth surface.

The single-seat Land Walker is powered by a 250 cc gasoline engine, while movement is controlled by joysticks and foot pedals.
